Caravan Park

Camping under the stars, at the coldest place in South Africa - Sutherland? Here we farm with stars as this is also the spot where we do stargazing every night.

Sutherland has a caravan park, just one kilometre outside of town, in the direction of Matjiesfontein, called Sterland Caravan Park.

The Caravan Park has eighteen stands with electricity and an ablution block with two electric geysers. Every stand has it's own braai area.

There are two communal lapas to be used by campers. We have also made a special walking area and space for young kids to cycle, in an enclosed area under supervision of parents nearby.

A unique fire pit shelters you from the wind and you can spend hours with your campfire as companion.

For the young at heart, there is a very special lovers walk with thoughtful verses. A lovely labyrinth can also be explored.

At present we are developing a further campsite with fifteen large stands, and ablution facilities that will be operational towards the end of October 2021.

Camping Site

Tents and bikers are also most welcome. On the one side of the premises is a fourteen metre diameter Muisbos enclosure, two metres high with a braai lapa in the centre, electrical plug and surrounding lights.

Visitors can now enjoy a Lovers Walk, stroll through the Labyrinth, sit round a fire pit, explore the Solstice effect or enjoy a sun downer under the massive peach trees.

Sitting next to your camp fire, looking up in the dark clear sky, you will be amazed to see the unforgettable Milky Way and stars from horizon to horizon, making you wish that you can see forever.
